Initial appointees hereunder shall take office upon appointment and shall serve until
March 31, 1971, and until a successor is appointed and qualified. The successors of
the initial appointees shall serve for two year terms beginning on April 1 in odd-numbered
years and shall continue in office for such terms and until their successors are chosen
and qualified. Each member shall be eligible to succeed himself, shall have the right
to resign at any time by giving notice to the body which appointed him, and to the
governing authorities of the City of Macon and Bibb County, if the city and county
were not the appointing authorities. Each member shall be subject to removal from
the board at any time in the same manner and by the same authority provided for removal
of registrars under the provisions of O.C.G.A. § 21-2-212. Upon removal of a member
as provided by law, a vacancy shall be deemed to exist and shall be filled for the
unexpired term as hereinabove provided.
